    What Is Life?
In order to know the answer to that question, we need to know that life comes only through Jesus.

    Jesus Gives Life.
In John 5:19-27, Jesus explains to the Jewish religious leaders why His healing during the Sabbath
did not break the religious law.
Jesus tells the religious leaders that He and Father are one.
In verse 21, Jesus says that He gives life to those whom He is pleased to give it.
Jesus is ready to give eternal life to all who will believe in Him.
When you believe in Jesus Christ, you are believing that God sent him.
At the instant of your belief, God removes the curse of death and gives you life eternal.
The dead that He is speaking of in verse 25 are those who have not believed in Jesus.
They are physically alive, but spiritually dead.
Jesus gives us eternal life the moment we believe.

Have you ever believed in Jesus?
Have you prayed, "Jesus I believe you are the Son of God, who died for my sins.
Please forgive me of my sins, and come into my heart
    ."
    Have you done that?
Have you asked Him to come into your heart?
You must do that to have eternal life.

You cannot receive God's great salvation by coming to church or being a good person
    or even being baptized.
You can only have it if you have believed in Jesus Christ the Son of God and have asked Him
    to come into your heart.
    Have you done that?

If you have not, you are spiritually dead.
When you die, you will not go to Heaven.
Hell will be your home for all eternally.
    Have you believed in Jesus?

    "Here in this world,
    He bids us come;
    there in the next,
    He shall bid us welcome."
    -- John Donne

    Will he bid you welcome?
    Are you going to Heaven?
    Do you have eternal life?
To have those things, you must believe in Jesus Christ.
All who have believed in Jesus Christ will go to Heaven, while the rest will live forever in a horrible hell.
We should be forever grateful for the eternal life that Christ has given us.
Are you grateful for your eternal life?
    Does your life show it?

    "What Would He Say?
    If He should come today
And find my hands so full
    Of future plans, however fair,
In which my Savior has no share,
    What would He say?

    If He should come today
And find my love so cold,
My faith so very weak and dim
I had not even looked for Him.
    What would He say?

    If He should come today
And find that I had not told
One soul about my Heavenly Friend
Whose blessings all my way attend,
    What would He say?

    If He should come today
Would I be glad, quite glad?
Remembering that He died for all
And none through me had heard His call,
    What would He say?"
    -- Mark Littleton

    Do you have eternal life?
If so, then thank God! Thank Him daily -- thank Him forever!
If not, you can receive Jesus now as your personal Saviour.
This is the day of your salvation.
Invite Jesus into your heart now!

    You came in spiritually dead!
You came in bound for hell.
    You can leave spiritually alive!
You can leave with heaven as your eternal home!
